Bring Sticks, Water receptacle, Sunscreen, Hats, Chairs, Eating Implements inc. plate DIRECTIONS: From the East or West find Loulé which is located just north of the A-22 motorway.  From either direction: Find, or follow, the Loulé by-pass (ER270) which is variously signposted ‘Boliqueime’ and ‘S. Brás’ depending upon which direction you are coming from. On this, and due north of Loulé, is a roundabout with a huge Municipal Pavilion on the north side and signposts directing you north to ‘Barranco de Velho & Querença’. Take this exit onto the N396 for about seven kilometres. On a very twisty part of this picturesque road you will come around a bend and see a junction with a road off to the left (and uphill) signposted ‘Tôr’ and ‘Querença’ this is the EM524. Turn off left here.  Follow the EM524 around the north side of Querença for 1.75 kms to Pombal and a junction just after a leafy bar signposted ‘Tôr’, ‘Corcitos’, ‘Salir’ and ‘Alte’. Turn right here onto the EM510.  Follow the EM510 for 5.5 kms to its very end which is a T-junction with the N124. Turn left here toward ‘Salir’ and ‘Alte’.  Drive about 500 metres along the N124, heading west, until, just after a fairly tight right-hand bend, you will see a track branching off right. Very carefully come off the tarmac onto this track. At the time of writing, the left side of the track’s bell-mouth was the smoothest transition. After this minor drop the track is quite good. There is one small gully to gently cross and one raised bump which would only hinder the likes of a Ferrari. Otherwise, as long as you drive slowly, the track should cause your car no concern. After 300 meters park on the left as directed by the Hare or Co-hare NOTE: If you are coming via the N124 from the West (Messines, Alte or Salir). The exit onto the track is located some three kilometres east of Salir. DO NOT try to turn left onto it. This would be dangerous, illegal and stupid. Continue the extra 500 metres to the junction with the EM510, signposted ‘Querença’ and do a U-ie here or at any other safe part of this road further on. Follow the N124 back to the track as explained above. ON ON!
